Myself and my mom, from Norway, spent 2 weeks in Mosteiro III, and could have found no better location! Alfama was perfect for us! We were so close to great attractions, like the St Georgs Castle, SE Cathedral, Sta. Luzia Miradouro and Rua de Augusta in the city. On top of the hill, around our corner is a square with a fire station and several bakeries, restaurants, and a mini mercado, our favourite. The apartement had everything we needed, the two separate beds in the bedroom, were exellent, the matrasses were really good to sleep on. Bring with you a few Cd's as there is a stereo. The stove is a bit funny to understand, but we managed it well and made many meals at home. When needed, the coach is very good to sleep on as a 3rd bed! The building is in a quiet area on the top with two orange trees and some palms, with a view from outside to the river and straight on to a huge church, St Vicente de Fora, the Monastery is a very beautiful museum with a crypt, lots of tiles, and you can go up to the top on the roof. Behind this church you have Feira de Ladra, a fleemarked area, which is twice a week, tuesdays and saturdays. The Apt is very clean and spotless, well kept. Coming back to Lisbon, I will only consider to stay in Alfama. Its about 20 minutes away from the Airport and should cost about 15 euro with Taxi.
